Custom Services at Conversations Therapy

Singapore city skyline at night.

What can make Conversations different?

Have you ever looked at some of the amazing architecture in modern skylines (like Singapore at night, above) and asked yourself, "Why is this so intriguing?"

The answer is because it's unique, it's different, and it stands out among the other skylines.

That's exactly what "Custom Services" (for Psychosis) are like at Conversations. Unique, different, and tailored to the individual.

Life Skills Mentor

Conversations knows that part of getting your loved one on the recovery track to independent living is more than just therapy. Reclaiming what was lost is a team effort, because Psychosis touches so many aspects of a person's being. As a Life Skills Mentor, in addition to regular therapy sessions, I work with individuals to develop the skills they need to live autonomously and successfully.

These skills can include self-care, developing daily routines, exercise, how to socialize, overcoming a fear of driving, volunteer work, and preparation for entering the job field.

(For example, developing a resume', mock job interviews, and accompanying them to actual interviews - as needed).

Health Advocacy

Often when individuals with Psychosis work with other healthcare providers, they receive so much information that it feels overwhelming. Young adults are just learning to navigate caring for themselves, much less trying to do so with the new lived experience of Psychosis, which can make thoughts feel very jumbled and disorganized. What helps is  having someone (a skilled therapist) in their corner to assist them with knowing what questions to ask, how to organize the information received, and what information to have ready when dealing with other care providers.

As a Health Advocate, this is the role I provide to bring the individual's care from separate duties and providers to comprehensive teamwork - all while teaching the individual how to manage this for themself.
